  • Ugandan Nilotica Shea Butter is of the highest quality and is produced in a socially responsible manner. The process begins with cleaning, washing, and drying shea nuts before they are cold pressed in a factory using a mechanical oil screw press.
  • How are Uganda shea nuts processed?
  • We process Uganda shea nuts by simply de-husking them. This involves the cutting out of the outer fruit, which leaves a few seeds inside. We then transfer these to wire-mesh in the sun for drying. This ensures there is proper removal of impure particles. The nuts can either undergo roasting or are packed raw.

  • Shea Butter comes from the nilotica species found only in the savannahs of Northern Uganda and Southern Sudan. The majority of shea butters on the market are harvested from the paradoxa species found on the dry savannah belt of West and Central Africa.
